This is a Macedonian
Traditional love song, a pearl, as we call it. It's also very
popular in Bulgaria as well. Thus, when I had some special
visitors back home in Skopje in December 2006, this was the
song that we both sang with a very special lady. It became
"our song". The lyrics sing about "where my love/ is she
thinking about me/I am thinking about her and will die for
her..." |
| Instruments:
Tambura playing the main melody. Other instruments
include
acoustic guitar and
electric guitar playing the arpeggios and bass-guitar.
Rhythm:
7/8 |
| Musically,
the 7/8 rhythm allows for a wonderful ascending and descending
of the melody (Natural
Major). As in earlier times there was not much of a
harmonisation in folk music in the Balkans, I was free to
experiment with the chord changes. I also added the intro on
