Octopus in London is an album of songs in English for Primary School children produced by Viktor Mastoridis in 2006.

It contains 10 (+3 bonus) simple songs in Folk, Pop, Hip-Hop and even Classical music style.

Some songs are transliterations taken from the album Moe Dete (Child Of Mine) by the same author. These make the Folk part of the album.

The other half of the songs are inspired and conceived in a Primary School environment in London and these provide for the more contemporary addition: Hip-Hop, Rock, Funk etc..

released September 1, 2006

Stefan Mastoridis - vocal; Aideen Hasson - vocal; Nikolay Angarev - bass; John Hudson - vocal, piano and help with translation and transliteration into English.

Track Name: Octopus
1. The octopus is red; he has a fat head,
All he goes is in his bed
The octopus is yellow, he’s a good fellow
All he does is – eat mush mellow

2. The octopus is pink, he has a good wink
All he does is all day swimming
The octopus is blue, he doesn’t have a clue
What to do with this terrible glue

3. The octopus is orange; he eats a lot of porridge
All he does is – squash his orange
The octopus is black, he lives in a sack
All he does is tickle his back

4. The octopus is purple, he lives in a circle
All he does is chase a turtle
The octopus is grey, he lives in hay
All he does is chase and play

5. The octopus is silver, he’s a good builder
All he does is make pure silver
The octopus is green, he’s very mean
I am telling you, he’s quite extreme

6. The octopus is white, he is very bright
All he does is: read and write
The octopus is gold, his house is old
And all the time he feels so cold
Track Name: Diwali
Wintertime is coming, everyone is humming,
Everyone is freezing cold, all the trees are going bold

Days are darker, colder, we need something warmer
But – hey! There’s a Feast of Light, everyone is getting bright

Di-Di-Diwali, everyone is smiling
Di-Di-Diwali, everyone is smiling
Rows of lighted lights dance and laugh tonight
Track Name: It's Harvest
It’s harvest, it’s harvest, and all the grain is ready
To harvest, to harvest the good fruits of the land
We harvest, we harvest with dance and celebration
All around the world today, we sing, with joy we stand

Bring your basket if you can, join us for a while
But if you haven’t much to take, bring with you your smile

Do you know that everywhere, people thank to God
For the food, the sun, the sea – and for all the world

In England, in Ireland, Holland, and Poland,
Thailand, and Finland, Island, Greenland
My homeland, and highland, midland, and Nowhere Land
All around the world today, we sing, with joy we stand
Track Name: Laughing Song
Ha-ha-ha-ha, ha-ha-ha, I sing a song about the laugh
Ho-ho-ho-ho, ho-ho-ho, it’s a very funny song

I sing about the joy, when I see my friends
I sing about the happiness, wickedness and craziness

He-he-he-he, he-he-he, (let’s) smile together and be friends
Hi-hi-hi-hi, hi-hi-hi, this is all I want to sing
Track Name: Christmas Bells
Now the bells are ringing, all the people singing
Snow falls from the glowing sky, Santa’s passing by
Ma and Granpa talking, laughing as they’re walking
But Santa Claus is very near, saying as he appears:

Come here children close to me, tell me what it is to see
Am I real or fantasy, soon I will be going
Before I go I have for you, many toys and chocolats too
Share them out with all your friends, frenship never ends

Frienship is the gift I bring, to all the children I hear sing
I will live you all the snow, now it’s time to go
