S.E.X. - a unique Welsh Rock Band with a charismatic singer

A weird name for a band, a naked bass-player on stage? Surely this can't be serous? Oh, it actually is very serious music and truly enjoyable show from the Land of Singers.

S.E.X. is a band that I bumped into by chance.

We were playing last night with Jurand at the Cavendish Arms, Vauxhal. 6 bands, 20 minutes each.

Everything was a sort of ordinary till at one moment a band called S.E.X. appeared. Mainly my age (?), except for the guitarist, who was an embryo when the band started, according to the singer, Phil.
Anyway, the band was formed of a keyboard player, guitarist, drummer and a naked bass-player.

Yes, as you can see, the guy performs completely naked except for the 'thingy' which is covered in some sort of leather.

Gosh, this is probably going to be some boring music, I thought instinctively.

How wrong was I!
With the first chords, a singer came out, my age again. As soon Phil Jones (the singer) started introducing their band, one could see that he had a charisma.

Actually, the whole band has a charisma. They play sort of neo-Whitesnake/Rainbow, but, oh, so original. And gooood.

As soon as they started playing, something was different. The small pub was transformed into a huge stadium. We were all taken up on the rock-winds of this band from Wales.

They played the regular set of 20 minutes, but no one in the audience stopped having a smile and enjoying through every single note.

It's hard to explain what did we enjoy: the music, Phil's charm, John Evans' brilliant guitar playing, Steve Leyshon's keyboard wizardry, the whole perfectly synchronized sound of the band?  I mean, Cavendish Arms is such a small venue, it's so hard to get any decent sound (although Bernie, the sound-technician helped us in every possible way).

But S.E.X. did manage to sound hot. And that proves my theory that one makes the sound on the stage, not with a help of a technician.

Not only that. Meeting them afterwards, I realized what wonderful, friendly and warm people they are.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me wholeheartedly introduce S.E.X. - a Rock Band from Wales. It's really one of the greatest unsigned bands that I have seen personally.
And I have seen many.
