Meditation and Relaxation music in popular culture are mainly connected
with Yoga and the Far East traditions.
However, there is another
great School of Meditation: the spiritual experience of the Eastern
Christian (Orthodox) Church.
The
soothing and
melodic music of the Balkan Traditional songs are some of the fruits
of this ancient hesychastic (calming) tradition.
Now
Calm takes a step further: taking the contemplative Eastern
European Roots as its basis, it creates & develops a very subtle
Mediterranean Meditation Music, as opposed to New Age.
Music for
concentration and inner search in essence, it creates airy,
weightless soundscapes.
Not at all wishy-washy, but
rather strong but unimposed compositions which take your mind and
heart and lead them to a sort of freedom that only warm and
gentle music could create.
It features ethnic
string instruments, especially the Tamboura - an instrument known to be
inductive to meditation.
Smooth
and tranquil, wrapped
in sunshine, Calm offers simple,
intuitive music for contemplation.
