MEDITERA MUSIC NOTIFIER #1
17/07/2007

This is the first issue of Meditera Music Notifier. In this issue:

1. Would you like to receive this Newsletter at all?
2. Upcoming London gig
3. New content on Meditera.Co.Uk

1. Meditera Music Notifier

First things first. You have received this email because:

bulletYou probably bought a CD or MP3 album/track with the music of Viktor Mastoridis. You bought the music either on Ebay, or CDBaby or Meditera.Co.Uk.
bulletEither you subscribed to this very Newsletter on Meditera.Co.Uk.
bulletOr someone else used your email to subscribe in your name.
bullet(Friends don't count. They are added automatically to this list, by the grace of being privileged:-)

In normal circumstances, a discophile is asked whether he wants to join a mailing list of a musician/bend roughly 2 weeks after purchase.

But this is not a normality. It’s the start, the genesis of a newsletter.

It wont be much different from any other musicians newsletters: info about gigs, new tracks/album & updates of the website; general music related news; and because this whole thing with music promotion and trade happens online, there will be some Internet related blurb occasionally.

It's frequency is a huge mystery even to me. But it wont be more often than a month, probably less.
So, WOULD YOU LIKE TO REMAIN ON THE MAILING LIST OF MEDITERA MUSIC NOTIFIER?

If yes, you don't have to do anything.

If not, you can simply go to Meditera.Co.Uk/Notifier, click the Unsubscribe button and enter your email address.

( If, like most us you have 5 e-addresses and are not sure which one was used, simply reply to this email writing UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject.)

2. GIG IN QUEEN ELIZABETH HALL, LONDON

For all of you folks who live in London or near: if next Saturday happens that you are down the river, why don't you come and hear us playing? I will be playing the electric guitar as a guest musician to Djanan Turan Band. She sang on a few of my songs in the past (I'm In Love With You etc), and this will be a promotion of the new CD she is about to release. Similar music style to mine, fusion of Pop/Rock and Turkish folk. Turkish lyrics, excellent singing and original, very good songs. Please come if you can.

Djanan Turan Band
21st July, Saturday 18.30 pm Queen Elizabeth Hall Foyer Belvedere Road,
South Bank London SE1 8XX UK

3. WEBSITE UPDATES
There have been number of features added on Meditera.Co.Uk.

Music-wise, there are now 4 main sections:

CD's - meditera.co.uk/cd
MP3 Albums - meditera.co.uk/mp3a
MP3 Singles - meditera.co.uk/mp3s
and MP3 Collections - meditera.co.uk/mp3c

CD’s: We don't sell the CD's directly from Meditera anymore. Instead, there are direct links to CD-Unsigned (UK) & CD-Baby (USA) from every CD on the site. Those are the most respected Indie distributors of CD's in the music world today.

Set your price and buy MP3's: MP3 downloads are still sold through Meditera.Co.Uk. The new concept there is that now you set the price for the MP3's. I heard about this idea from an American song-writer, and the results are amazing. Thanx to all of you who have been so generous. I’ve always felt that music can’t be really strangled down to the strict economical rules of demand and supply, and SET YOUR PRICE AND BUY IT just puts the music back where it belongs.

MP3 Collections is the latest 'innovation'. These are basically MP3's sorted together by mood or instrument. meditera.co.uk/mp3c

Other updates to the site include the addition of the Lyrics section. meditera.co.uk/lyrics

Tabs & Notation section has been created as well: for all those who would like to learn some of the tunes. There are only a few tabs/scores for now, but that will surely grow. meditera.co.uk/tabs

And, for the folks wishing to learn more about the music from the Balkan's and its instruments, as well as scales and rhythms, there are quite a few informative articles on meditera.co.uk/about.

There are other updates on the website, as well as many new compositions, but I would like to keep this first letter short and tidy.

So I am greeting you now wishing you to receive in peace everything that the coming days are going to bring: whether good, or not so good news.

Viktor Mastoridis
