about

We all familiar with this beauty. The modern legend has it that in 1816, in Oberndorf, Austria, the church organ was no longer working so that Mohr (the lyricist) and Gruber therefore created a song for accompaniment by guitar. There's an amazing warmth in this aria.
I was not sure that I could add anything interesting to this perfect tune, till one day I didn't come to use the baglamas as the rhythmic, arpeggio instrument. For a while I thought I'd release it as a duo with a bouzouki. Then I added a bass-line, and finally, the organ as a perfect contrast to the baglamas.
