about

(Traditional Puerto Rican Carol)
I love this song. I discovered it in a book of international Christmas Carols, and was so impressed by its beauty, that decided to record it. Me, my wife and a friend of ours (Djanan Turan) sing on that first recording in 2007. I wanted to include here the instrumental version made at that time, however, it was quite bland – the Italian mandolin would just play the melody, without any real inspiration. So I re-arranged the drum and percussion part and added the accordion at the beginning, and bouzouki improvisation at the end, which was recorded in one take only. And so a new version of the recording was born!
