Nisiotiko (Νησιώτικο) is a Greek word meaning: from the Island. In plural,Nisiotika (Νησιώτικα) refers to the music that comes from the Greek Islands. These are usually cheerful and sunny songs and dances depicting the sorrows and more often the joys of life in an island.
Positive and lively, this is one of the most beautiful genre in the
Greek music tradition.
The instrumental Nisiotiko (2003) is one such example of a nisiotiko
dance. Featuring two Bouzoukia (μπουζούκια) in a syrto (συρτό) rhythm.
