about

I know this tune from the Christmas plays that I organize for our school. I like it a lot, and it probably has the least touching points with anything Greek or Mediterranean. And then one day, I came with two ideas, both very Greek, both taking the actual mood quite away. One in Zeimbekiko rhythm (a Greek, slow version of 9/8) and the other in Sirto (used a lot on the islands). A long Zeimbekiko tune would simply be a killjoy, especially if the melody is not native Greek. It didn't take long to figure out that combining both of them would be the way forward.
