A classic Rock instrumental performed on electric guitar.
Rock and Blues are my my roots, as much as Balkan music. Actually, in our youth we only listened to Western music. Our own folk songs were seen as simple, old-fashioned, with silly texts - in other words - totally uncool. It was the music of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd etc that initialised that sparkle to want not only to listen, but to learn to play music as well. To sound cool like Peter Green, Santana and Ritchie Blackmore.
To work a whole summer as a newspaper delivery boy and getting up as early as 4am every morning, in order to earn money for my first electric guitar. To spend hours, days, months and years perfecting it, imitating them and eventually developing own expression. Learning to make songs, making bands, playing in many countries, meeting many new friends. Eventually meeting my first and my second wife through music.
This instrumental musically inspired by these teenage years, my music idols, that sparkle.
The inspiration for creating this instrumental was when I worked as as music journalist for the BBC World Service. I wanted a short tune that I would use as the background for my programme called Musical Archive.
