from Roots (2013) by Valkania

Lowering my ideal vision is something I would never accept
Living the Plan B for ever and getting used to it
Waiting for miracles to happen and I wake again
Wondering why they don't
Walking my way with the thought: “Alright, it could be worse.”
Living my life in the shadowlands
Pondering what I let go when I left my home:
“Is lost identity the highest sacrifice to make?”
Suddenly no one knew my past and I couldn't see my future,
I was roaming and losing the will to live.
Finally realised that I'd started losing my religion,
Losing the faith in me and you and in the world we live.
But I couldn't keep on giving up my ideals:
Dreams are not for sale -
What is the worth of an empty soul?
I picked myself up, stood on my own two feet:
I wasn't born to live In shadows, fears or denials.
We were born for greatness:
I believe in me and you and the world we're in.
Have faith and courage for your dreams.
Living my life, living whole life, living a life in the shadowlands
Living my life, living no life, yearning for a life in the shadowlands
